Ekādaśī Vrata-Vidhi and the Galava–Bhadrashīla Itihāsa
Dharmakīrti before Yama
Narada (addressing a revered brahmin-sage/teacher figure in the dialogue context)
Vrata: Ekādaśī
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It elevates Ekādaśī as a foremost devotional vow, implying that sincere bhakti-filled observance itself is a complete spiritual commendation and motivates the aspirant to undertake the vrata.
Bhakti is presented as the essential force that makes the vow spiritually potent—devotion is not secondary to ritual; it is the heart of the Ekādaśī observance.
Ritual discipline (kalpa-oriented vrata practice) is implied: the verse emphasizes correct adoption of a vrata with devotional intent rather than technical details of grammar or astrology.
