Jyotiṣa-śāstra Saṅgraha: Threefold Division, Gaṇita Methods, Muhūrta, and Planetary Reckoning

संख्यातत्त्वाश्विसंवर्ग्यसंयोज्यं धनुरुच्यते । रवेर्मंदपरिध्यंशा मनवः शीतगोरदाः ॥ १०१ ॥

saṃkhyātattvāśvisaṃvargyasaṃyojyaṃ dhanurucyate | ravermaṃdaparidhyaṃśā manavaḥ śītagoradāḥ || 101 ||

Wenn die gezählten Prinzipien (tattva) gesammelt und zusammengefügt werden, heißt dieses Ganze «Dhanus», ein Maß im kosmischen Rechnen. Die Manus gelten als Abschnitte des langsam verlaufenden Sonnenumlaufs und als Spender von Kühle und Rindern — das heißt von Gedeihen und der ordnenden, tragenden Weltordnung.
