Nirukta, Phonetic Variants, and Vedic Dhātu–Svara Taxonomy

विभाषयान्यथाभावात्सर्वं सिद्ध्येञ्च वैदिकम् । भूवाद्या धातवो ज्ञेयाः परस्मैपदिनस्स्मृताः ॥ १९ ॥

vibhāṣayānyathābhāvātsarvaṃ siddhyeñca vaidikam | bhūvādyā dhātavo jñeyāḥ parasmaipadinassmṛtāḥ || 19 ||

Wegen der Wahlformen (vibhāṣā) und der Möglichkeit abweichenden Gebrauchs kann dennoch jede vedische Ausdrucksweise als gültig begründet werden. Die Verbalwurzeln, die mit bhū („sein, werden“) beginnen, sind nach der Überlieferung als parasmaipada (aktiv) zu erkennen.
