The Description of the Glory of the Purāṇa
Purāṇa-Māhātmya
Suta (colophon/sectional closing formula; not a dialog verse)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta (peace)
Secondary Rasa: none
It functions as a formal colophon, marking the completion of Adhyaya 125 and emphasizing the Purāṇa’s “mahimā” (glory) as an authoritative dharma-text within the Fourth Pada’s summary-oriented structure.
Indirectly: by closing a chapter devoted to Purāṇa-mahimā, it reinforces the Purāṇic method of nurturing bhakti through listening (śravaṇa), recitation (pāṭha), and reverence for sacred narratives.
This is not a Vedāṅga instruction verse; it is a textual-archival marker that preserves chapter numbering, section (pāda) placement, and title—useful for precise citation and manuscript organization.
