The Description of the Glory of the Purāṇa
Purāṇa-Māhātmya
Suta (narrative voice, describing the devotee’s act of reverence)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It highlights the classic Purāṇic sequence of devotion—first humble prostration at the Lord’s feet (praṇāma), then verbal praise (stuti) offered with a purified, tranquil mind.
Bhakti is shown as both bodily and verbal worship: surrender expressed through bowing, followed by heartfelt glorification of the deity—here Śiva as Vṛṣadhvaja—done with inner serenity (prasanna-manas).
No specific Vedāṅga technique is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is ritual etiquette (ācāra): praṇāma and stuti as foundational acts within Purāṇic worship and daily devotion.
