FAQs

It teaches the dharmic order of a sacred meal: first honor the learned brāhmaṇas with food and dakṣiṇā, then partake of the remainder as sanctified remnant, cultivating humility, purity, and right social conduct.

By treating the offering and its remainder as sacred, the verse supports a bhakti-oriented attitude—service first, personal enjoyment last—so the household act becomes an offering rather than mere consumption.

It reflects Kalpa (ritual procedure) in prescribing the correct sequence—bhojana (feeding), dakṣiṇā (ritual gift), visarga (formal dismissal), and then consumption of the remainder—showing disciplined observance of rite and etiquette.
