The Second Twelve-Month Vrata: Dvitīyā Observances and Their Fruits

यस्यां तिथौ यमुनया यमराजदेवः संभोजितो निजकरात्स्वसृसौहृदेन । तस्यां स्वसुः करतलादिह यो भुनक्ति प्राप्नोति रत्नधनधान्यमनुत्तमं सः ॥ २१ ॥

yasyāṃ tithau yamunayā yamarājadevaḥ saṃbhojito nijakarātsvasṛsauhṛdena | tasyāṃ svasuḥ karatalādiha yo bhunakti prāpnoti ratnadhanadhānyamanuttamaṃ saḥ || 21 ||

An dem Tithi, an dem einst der göttliche König Yama von Yamunā mit schwesterlicher Zuneigung aus ihrer eigenen Hand gespeist wurde—wer an eben diesem Tithi hier aus der Handfläche seiner Schwester isst, erlangt unvergleichlichen Reichtum: Edelsteine, Vermögen und reiches Korn.
