Educational Q&A

The verse highlights endurance and prudent self-restraint under adversity: maintaining safety and purpose through concealment and simplicity, even when one’s dignity is tested—an ethical posture aligned with dharma in times of danger.

During the Pāṇḍavas’ incognito period in Virāṭa’s realm, Draupadī hides herself and adopts a humble appearance by wearing a single large, soiled garment, signaling her attempt to avoid recognition and potential harm.
