क्रोधाविष्टो विनि:श्वस्य पुनश्चैनं वृकोदर: । जग्राह जयतां श्रेष्ठ: केशेष्वेव तदा भूशम्,विजयी वीरोंमें श्रेष्ठ भीमसेनका क्रोधावेश अभी उतरा नहीं था। उन्होंने पुनः बारंबार उच्छवास लेकर कीचकके केश पकड़ लिये
krodhāviṣṭo viniḥśvasya punaś cainaṃ vṛkodaraḥ | jagrāha jayatāṃ śreṣṭhaḥ keśeṣv eva tadā bhṛśam ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: Noch immer vom Zorn gepackt und immer wieder schwer atmend, ergriff Vṛkodara—Bhīmasena, der Beste unter den Siegern—Kīcaka erneut und packte ihn fest am Haar. Die Szene zeigt, wie gerechter Zorn, einmal entfesselt zur Verteidigung von Ehre und Gerechtigkeit, anhalten kann, bis der Übeltäter vollständig niedergerungen ist.
