स्कन्दग्रहवर्णनम् (Skanda-graha-varṇanam) — Description and Pacification of the Skanda-afflictions

भूतानामेव सर्वेषां यस्यां रागस्तदाभवत्‌ | रागाद्वागेति यामाहुर्द्धितीयाज्ञिरस: सुता,अंगिरा मुनिकी दूसरी कन्या “रागा' नामसे विख्यात है। उसपर समस्त प्राणियोंका विशेष अनुराग प्रकट हुआ था। इसीलिये उसका ऐसा नाम प्रसिद्ध हुआ। (यह रात्रिकी अभिमानिनी है)

bhūtānām eva sarveṣāṁ yasyāṁ rāgas tadābhavat | rāgād vāg eti yām āhur dvitīyāṅgirasaḥ sutā ||

Markandeya sprach: „In ihr erwachte bei allen Wesen eine besondere Zuneigung. Wegen dieses ‘rāga’ (Anziehung, Liebe) nennt man sie auch ‘Vāk’ (Rede, Wort). Sie war die zweite Tochter des Weisen Aṅgiras.“
