The verse teaches that offering sincere homage to a truly worthy person is a dharmic act that yields exalted results: even gods are portrayed as honoring him, and humans who do likewise are said to attain (win) heaven—highlighting reverence, humility, and recognition of virtue as spiritually potent.
Vyāsa states that the gods in heaven stand in reverence to ‘him’ (a previously mentioned exalted figure), and that humans in the world who also offer salutations likewise attain heaven. The line functions as a commendation of the figure’s greatness and of the merit gained by honoring such greatness.
