सैन्येन रजसा मूढं सर्वमन्धमिवा भवत् । उस अवस्थामें न आकाशका, न पृथ्वीका और न दिशाओंका ही पता लगता था। सेनाद्वारा उड़ायी हुई धूलसे आच्छादित होकर वहाँ सब कुछ अन्धकारमय हो गया था
sainyena rajasā mūḍhaṃ sarvam andham ivābhavat |
Sañjaya sprach: Das ganze Feld war von dem Staub, den die Heere aufwirbelten, benommen und wurde, als wäre es in der Finsternis blind. In diesem Zustand erkannte man weder Himmel noch Erde noch selbst die Himmelsrichtungen—so vollständig verhüllte der wirbelnde Staub alles und machte die Szene düster und orientierungslos.
