तेन प्रकाशेन भृशं प्रकाशं बभूव तेषां तव चैव सैन्यम्‌ | उन दोनों सेनाओंका बढ़ा हुआ प्रकाश पृथ्वी, आकाश तथा सम्पूर्ण दिशाओंको लाँघकर चारों ओर फैल गया। प्रदीपोंके उस प्रकाशसे आपकी तथा पाण्डवोंकी सेना भी अधिक प्रकाशित हो उठी थी

Transliteration

tena prakāśena bhṛśaṃ prakāśaṃ babhūva teṣāṃ tava caiva sainyam |

Translation

Sañjaya sprach: „Durch jenes Leuchten wurden die Heere beider Seiten—deines und ihres—überaus erhellt. Das gesteigerte Licht breitete sich nach allen Richtungen aus, als überstiege es Erde, Himmel und jeden Himmelsstrich, und ließ die Kaurava- wie die Pāṇḍava-Scharen inmitten der moralischen Finsternis des Krieges noch heller erstrahlen.“
