स खलु कालिड्रीं करम्भां नामोपयेमे | तस्यामस्य जज्ञे देवातिथि:,अक्रोधनने कलिंगदेशकी राजकुमारी करम्भासे विवाह किया। जिसके गर्भसे उनके देवातिथि नामक पुत्रका जन्म हुआ
sa khalu kāliḍrīṃ karambhāṃ nāmopayeme | tasyām asya jajñe devātithiḥ |
Vaiśampāyana sprach: Er (Akrodhana) nahm wahrlich eine Frau namens Karambhā aus der Kāliḍrī-Linie zur Gemahlin. Von ihr wurde ihm ein Sohn geboren, Devātithi genannt.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores dharmic social order: marriage as the sanctioned means of forming family, and legitimate progeny as the continuation of lineage—key concerns in the Mahābhārata’s dynastic histories.
In the ongoing genealogical account, the narrator states that the man married Karambhā of the Kāliḍrī lineage, and that their son Devātithi was born from this union.
