आशीविषै: कृष्णसर्प: सुप्तं चैनमदंशयत्‌ | सर्वेष्वेवाड्गदेशेषु न ममार च शत्रुहा,एक दिन दुर्योधनने भीमसेनको सोते समय उनके सम्पूर्ण अंग-प्रत्यंगोंमें काले साँपोंसे डँसवा दिया, किंतु शत्रुधाती भीम मर न सके

Āśīviṣaiḥ kṛṣṇasarpaḥ suptaṃ cainam adaṃśayat | sarveṣv evāṅgadeśeṣu na mamāra ca śatruhā ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Duryodhana ließ den schlafenden Bhīmasena von giftigen schwarzen Schlangen an allen Gliedern beißen. Doch Bhīma, der Feindeschlächter, starb nicht.
