तैस्तैरविंहारैर्बहुभिदैत्यानां कामरूपिणाम्‌ | समा: संक्रीडतां तेषामहरेकमिवाभवत्‌,इच्छानुसार रूप धारण करनेवाले वे दैत्य वर्षोतक भाँति-भाँतिके खेल-कूद और आमोद-प्रमोद करनेमें लगे रहे; किंतु वह सारा समय उन्हें एक दिनके समान लगा

taistair avihārair bahubhir daityānāṁ kāmarūpiṇām | samāḥ saṅkrīḍatāṁ teṣām ahar ekam ivābhavat |

Nārada sprach: „Mit jenen vielen und mannigfaltigen Vergnügungen gaben sich die Dānavas, die nach Belieben Gestalt wechseln konnten, dem Spiel und den Genüssen hin. Für sie vergingen selbst ganze Jahre, als wären sie nur ein einziger Tag.“
