Intelligence Reports and the Kaurava Court’s Response

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharma through proper hospitality and reverence: a king and his household should honor the purohita/brahmin with formal reception and respectful seating before engaging in counsel or important decisions, affirming the moral authority of sacred learning and ritual order.

Bhīma completes the formal acts of reception and worship and accepts the priest’s participation with joy; once the purohita is comfortably seated, Yudhiṣṭhira begins to address him, while the narrator frames the account for Janamejaya.
