उच्चैःश्रवसः वर्णविपणः तथा नागशापः
Uccaiḥśravas Color-Wager and the Nāga Curse
तत:ः शतसहसांशुर्म थ्यमानात्तु सागरात् । प्रसन्नात्मा समुत्पन्न: सोम: शीतांशुरुज्ज्वल:,फिर तो उस महासागरसे अनन्त किरणोंवाले सूर्यके समान तेजस्वी, शीतल प्रकाशसे युक्त, श्वैतवर्ण एवं प्रसन्नात्मा चन्द्रमा प्रकट हुआ
tataḥ śatasahasāṃśur mathyamānāt tu sāgarāt | prasannātmā samutpannaḥ somaḥ śītāṃśur ujjvalaḥ ||
Dann, als der große Ozean gequirlt wurde, stieg Soma —der Mond— daraus empor: strahlend in kühlen Lichtstrahlen, leuchtend wie eine Sonne mit unzähligen Strahlen und von heiterer, gelassener Natur.
