उच्चैःश्रवसः वर्णविपणः तथा नागशापः
Uccaiḥśravas Color-Wager and the Nāga Curse
सौतिर्वाच नारायणवच: श्रुत्वा बलिनस्ते महोदथे: । तत् पय:ः सहिता भूयश्नचक्रिरे भूशभाकुलम्,उग्रश्रवाजी कहते हैं--शौनकजी! भगवान् नारायणका वचन सुनकर देवताओं और दानवोंका बल बढ़ गया। उन सबने मिलकर पुनः वेगपूर्वक महासागरका वह जल मथना आरम्भ किया और उस समस्त जलराशिको अत्यन्त क्षुब्ध कर डाला
sautir uvāca nārāyaṇavacaḥ śrutvā balinas te mahodadheḥ | tat payaḥ-sahitā bhūyaś cakrire bhūśa-bhākulam ||
Sauti sprach: „O Śaunaka! Als jene Mächtigen die Worte Nārāyaṇas vernahmen, wuchsen ihre Kraft und ihr Entschluss. Da vereinten sie sich abermals und begannen, den großen Ozean mit erneuter Wucht zu quirlen, sodass die gesamte Wassermasse heftig aufgewühlt wurde.“
