न हीय॑ स्ववशा बाला कामयत्यद्य मामिह । चोदितैषा हुनज्रेन शरीरान्तरचारिणा,“यह भोली-भाली स्त्री अपने वशमें नहीं है। शरीरके भीतर विचरनेवाले कामदेवसे प्रेरित होकर आज यह मुझे अपना पति बनाना चाहती है

na hīyaṁ svavaśā bālā kāmayaty adya mām iha | coditaiṣā hunajreṇa śarīrāntaracāriṇā ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: «Dieses unschuldige junge Mädchen handelt nicht aus eigener Macht. Von Kāma gedrängt—von der Begierde, die im Körper umhergeht—begehrt sie mich heute hier und will mich zum Gatten nehmen.»
