मन्वन्तरेण चैकेन सर्वाण्येवान्तराणि च कथितानि भविष्यन्ति कल्पः कल्पेन चैव हि
manvantareṇa caikena sarvāṇyevāntarāṇi ca kathitāni bhaviṣyanti kalpaḥ kalpena caiva hi
Indem man auch nur einen einzigen Manvantara schildert, sind alle Zwischenzyklen sinngemäß mit erklärt; ebenso wird durch die Rede von einem Kalpa das Wesen der Kalpas verständlich. So steht die puranische Schau der sich wiederholenden Zeitordnung, getragen von Pati (Śiva), dem Herrn des kosmischen Rhythmus.
