Virocana–Bali, Aditi’s Tapas, and the Vāmana–Trivikrama Episode

FAQs

It presents the Supreme as both non-dual (undivided in itself) and the ground from which all perceived divisions arise, while remaining beyond the totality of manifest existence.

The verse supports a contemplative discipline of seeing unity behind multiplicity—an inward yogic discernment (viveka) where the practitioner recognizes the One Lord as both transcendent and pervading all appearances.

By describing Vāsudeva in non-dual terms (beyond all yet present within all), it aligns with the Kurma Purana’s synthesis where sectarian names point to a single supreme reality approached through complementary Shaiva-Vaishnava frameworks.
