Sukta 3
इन्द्र क्रतुं न आ भर पिता पुत्रेभ्यो यथा । शिक्षा णो अस्मिन् पुरुहूत यामनि जीवा ज्योतिरशीमहि
índra krátuṁ no ā́ bhara pitā́ putrébhyo yáthā | śíkṣā no asmín puruhūta yā́mani jīvā́ jyótiḥ aśīmahi
Indra, bring us hither strength of purpose, as a father unto sons. In this our way, O much-invoked, instruct us: living, may we attain the Light.
Indra, bringe uns her die Entschlossenheit (krátu), wie ein Vater sie den Söhnen bringt. Unterweise uns auf diesem Weg, o Vielangerufener: lebend mögen wir das Licht erreichen.
