शिव उवाच । यद्यस्मि रुद्रस्तव किं मया स्यात्किमर्थमेवं वदसीति मिथ्या । शृणु प्रभावं मम दैत्यनाथ न्याय्यं न वक्तुं वचनं त्वयैवम्

শিব বললেন—যদি আমি সত্যই তোমার রুদ্র হই, তবে আমার আর কী করণীয়? তুমি কেন মিথ্যা এভাবে বলছ? হে দৈত্যনাথ, আমার মহিমা শোন; এ রকম কথা বলা তোমার পক্ষে ন্যায্য নয়।
