O king! we choose your brother's daughters for the great souls: the young Bharata and the sagacious Satrughna.
Dharma is served through orderly, socially sanctioned alliance: elders and sages arrange marriages for the welfare of princes and the stability of royal lineages.
The sage specifies that Bharata and Śatrughna are to marry Kuśadhvaja’s daughters, completing a fourfold marital alliance with Mithilā.
The princes’ mahātmatā (nobility of spirit) and Śatrughna’s dhīmatā (wisdom) are foregrounded as merits befitting such alliances.
