आदित्रिके द्विचतुर्थे सममर्द्धसमं ततम् । लक्ष्म भिन्नं यस्य पादचतुष्के विषमं हि तत् ॥ ८ ॥

Transliteration

āditrike dvicaturthe samamarddhasamaṃ tatam | lakṣma bhinnaṃ yasya pādacatuṣke viṣamaṃ hi tat || 8 ||

Translation

যে পদ্যে প্রথম তিন পাদ সম হয়, আর দ্বিতীয় ও চতুর্থ পাদ অর্ধসম হয়, এবং চার পাদে ছন্দ-লক্ষণ ভিন্ন থাকে—তাই ‘বিষম’ বৃত্ত।
