अनुबंधेऽपवाहे चैकस्य चेदधिकोनकः । भागास्तलस्थहारेण हरं स्वांशाधिकेन तान् ॥ २३ ॥

যোগ (অনুবন্ধ) ও বিয়োগ (অপবাহ) ক্ষেত্রে যদি এক পদ বেশি বা কম হয়, তবে নিচে স্থিত হরকে ধরে অংশ নির্ণয় করতে হবে; তারপর সেই অংশগুলোকে হরের নিজ অংশ যোগে বৃদ্ধি পাওয়া হর দ্বারা ভাগ করতে হবে।
