स्वदेशे परदेशे वाप्यतिथिं नोपवासयेत् । कर्म वै सफल कृत्वा गुरूणां प्रतिपादयेत्
Bhīṣma uvāca | svadeśe paradeśe vāpy atithiṁ nopavāsayet | karma vai saphalaṁ kṛtvā gurūṇāṁ pratipādayet ||
ভীষ্ম বললেন—নিজ দেশে হোক বা পরদেশে, কোনো অতিথিকে উপবাসী করে রাখা উচিত নয়। আর গুরুজন যে কাজের আদেশ দেন, তা সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন করে তাঁদের কাছে নিবেদন করে জানাতে হবে।
