Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Philosophy","secondary_vidya":"Mantra","practical_application":"Use triadic correspondences (matras, Vedas, lokas, gunas, avasthas, deva-triad) as a contemplative map for pranava-meditation and tattva-reflection.","sutra_style":true}

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"List","entry_title":"Triadic Correspondences (Matra–Veda–Loka–Guna–Avastha–Deva)","lookup_keywords":["traya","matra-traya","guna-traya","avastha-traya","trimurti"],"quick_summary":"The verse enumerates multiple triads—phonetic, cosmological, psychological, and theological—linking them as correspondences. It functions as a mnemonic for integrating mantra (Oṃ) with metaphysics and experience."}

Concept: Microcosm–macrocosm mapping: sound-structure (matra) mirrors Veda, worlds, qualities, states of consciousness, and divine functions.

Application: Meditate on A-U-M as mapping to waking-dream-sleep and to guna-traya; use the mapping to stabilize awareness and reduce fragmentation of mind.

Khanda Section: Vedanta / Tattva-Sankhya (Triads and Correspondences; Puranic metaphysics)

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Type: Cosmology

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A triadic mandala: A-U-M at center, surrounded by rings showing three Vedas, three worlds (Bhur-Bhuvah-Svah), three gunas, three states (waking/dream/deep sleep), and the Trimurti.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural mandala composition, central Oṃ, threefold rings with symbolic icons (Veda manuscripts, world-spheres, guna colors, sleeping/ dreaming/ waking figures, Trimurti), bold outlines, sacred geometry feel","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting, embossed gold central Oṃ, three concentric triad panels with jeweled ornamentation, Trimurti in small medallions, rich saturated palette, devotional-cosmological diagram","mysore_prompt":"Mysore style, clean didactic chart-like mandala, labeled triads in Sanskrit, subtle shading, emphasis on clarity and correspondence mapping","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, cosmological diagram on a folio held by a scholar, delicate triad vignettes around Oṃ, fine brushwork, restrained colors with gold highlights"}

FAQs

It teaches a schematic mapping of key triads—mantric/phonetic measures (mātrā), Vedic revelation, cosmic realms (Bhūḥ–Bhuvaḥ–Svaḥ), psychological states, and deity-functions—used in mantra-japa and contemplative visualization to unify ritual recitation with cosmology and theology.

By compressing phonetics (mātrā), Vedic classification, cosmography, Sāṅkhya guṇas, yoga-psychology (three states), and Purāṇic theology (Trimūrti) into a single catalog, it exemplifies the Agni Purana’s cross-disciplinary, reference-style organization.

Contemplating these correspondences supports ekāgratā (one-pointedness) and a holistic view of dharma—linking speech, mind, cosmos, and deity—thereby purifying intention in worship and deepening insight into the unity underlying diverse scriptural categories.
