Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It compares the mind and conduct to an elephant: powerful but steerable. The verse teaches that Āgamas and śāstric disciplines can redirect a person from uncontrolled tendencies toward a regulated, liberation-oriented life.
Bhakti is strengthened when devotion is guided by revealed methods—rules of worship, mantra, purity, and daily observances. Here, the Āgamas function like the guiding hand that channels devotion into steady practice rather than impulsive emotion.
The verse highlights śāstra-nīti (scriptural method): learning how authoritative texts regulate practice—especially ritual procedure and correct application of teachings, which aligns with the practical spirit of Kalpa (ritual method) and related disciplines.
