मासैश्चतुर्भिर्यत्पुण्यं विधिनाऽपूज्य शंकरम् । कार्त्तिक्यां स लभेत्पुण्यं चैत्र्यां तद्द्विगुणं स्मृतम् । पुण्यमेतत्तु फाल्गुन्यामाषाढ्यामेवमेव तु
māsaiścaturbhiryatpuṇyaṃ vidhinā'pūjya śaṃkaram | kārttikyāṃ sa labhetpuṇyaṃ caitryāṃ taddviguṇaṃ smṛtam | puṇyametattu phālgunyāmāṣāḍhyāmevameva tu
أيُّ ثوابٍ يُنال بعبادة شانكرا (Śaṅkara) على وفق الشريعة والنسك مدة أربعة أشهر—فإن ذلك الثواب يُنال في شهر كارتِّيكا؛ وفي شهر تشيترا يُذكر أنه مضاعف. وعلى هذا القياس عينه يُعلَّم الثواب في فالغونا وفي آشاده كذلك.
