gośṛṃga uvāca | bhārate tu mahātejāstiṣṭhatyudadhisannidhau | devaḥ someśvaronāma sarvadevanamaskṛtaḥ
Gośṛṅga (sage)
Tirtha: Somēśvara (Somnātha) at Prabhāsa
Type: kshetra
Listener: Gandharva
Scene: Gośṛṅga points toward a radiant Śiva-liṅga shrine by the sea; devas in the sky offer salutations; the ocean glimmers behind the temple.
The Purāṇa grounds divine grace in sacred geography: the Lord is tangibly present in a tīrtha for the welfare of beings.
Someshvara in Prabhāsa-kṣetra, described as situated near the ocean.
No detailed rite here; it establishes Someshvara’s eminence, leading into worship and vow instructions.
