अग्निरिति भस्म वायुरिति भस्म जलमिति भस्म स्थलमिति भस्म सर्वं ह वा इदं भस्माभवत् । एतानि चक्षूंषि नादीक्षितः संस्पृशेत्

«أغني نارٌ هي رماد؛ وفايو ريحٌ هي رماد؛ والماء رماد؛ والأرض رماد—حقًّا إنّ هذا كلَّه قد صار رمادًا». وهذه هي «العيون» (أي الصيغ/البصائر المقدّسة)؛ ومن لم يتلقَّ الدِّكشا (dīkṣā) فلا يَحِلّ له أن يمسَّها أو يستعملها.

The ash-teaching conveys impermanence and Śaiva renunciation, and it is treated as initiatory knowledge requiring dīkṣā.

Use/handling of these ash-mantras is restricted: the uninitiated (nādīkṣita) should not employ them.
