anyadeśakṛtaṃ pāpamasmin kṣetre vinaśyati | asmiṃstīrthe kṛtaṃ pāpaṃ vajralepo bhaviṣyati
Skanda (deduced from Skanda Purana narrative framework)
Type: ghat
Listener: Yudhiṣṭhira (contextual addressee)
Scene: A pilgrim approaches a radiant river-ford; behind him dark smoke-like sins dissolve, while near the ford a diamond-hard crust symbolizes ‘vajra-lepa’ for transgression within the sacred boundary; sages gesture warningly.
A tīrtha purifies, yet it demands higher conduct; wrongdoing in a holy place carries heavier karmic weight.
The unnamed tīrtha within the Revā Khaṇḍa’s Amareśvara/Kāverī–Narmadā sacred region.
A behavioral injunction: maintain strict purity and avoid sinful acts within the kṣetra and especially at the tīrtha.
