yatpradattamidaṃ puṇyaṃ purāṇaṃ vācyate dvijaiḥ | śivaloke sthitistasya purāṇākṣaravatsarī
Sūta (deduced from phalaśruti and dāna-related merit statement in Revā-khaṇḍa narration)
Tirtha: Revā-carita (gifted Purāṇa)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A donor offers the Purāṇa; a brāhmaṇa recites from it; above, a vision of Śivaloka—Śiva enthroned with serene attendants—connected by a stream of luminous syllables (akṣaras) rising like sparks.
Charity connected to sacred learning—supporting recitation and transmission—becomes a direct cause for Śaiva spiritual attainment.
This verse focuses on Śivaloka (Śiva’s realm) as the fruit; the broader frame remains the Revā (Narmadā) Māhātmya.
Purāṇa-dāna (gifting the Purāṇa) and arranging/participating in its recitation by dvijas.
