Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: Not tied to a Jyotirliṅga; it is a muhūrta/saṅkalpa prescription: prosperity-seekers worship Ambā under specific rāśi-vāra-tithi-nakṣatra concurrence.
Significance: Emphasizes Śakti-upāsanā within a Śaiva frame: worldly prosperity (bhūti) and ‘bhoga’ are granted by the Mother when approached at auspicious times.
Shakti Form: Umā
Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
Cosmic Event: Moon transiting Karkaṭa (Cancer) with Somavāra-Navamī alignment
It teaches that devotion performed at sanctified times (tithi–vāra–nakṣatra) becomes an efficacious vehicle for bhukti (worldly well-being). In Shaiva Siddhanta, such fruits are granted through the Mother’s grace while remaining aligned with dharma and Shiva’s order.
Ambā (Umā/Śakti) is worshiped as inseparable from Shiva; her worship complements Saguna Shiva-upāsanā. In Purāṇic Shaiva practice, honoring the Divine Mother supports and completes Linga worship, since Shiva and Shakti function as one reality in manifest grace.
Perform Ambā-pūjā on Monday when the specified tithi and nakṣatra occur—offering flowers, lamp, and mantra-japa (e.g., Umā/Ambikā mantras) with purity and devotion; this is presented as a timed observance for prosperity and desired attainments.
