आ तं भज सौश्रवसेष्वग्न उक्थौक्थ आ भज शस्यमाने । प्रियः सूर्ये प्रियो अग्ना भवात्युज्जातेन भिनददुज्जनित्वैः ॥

ā́ táṃ bhaja sauśraváseṣv agna ukthe-úkthe ā́ bhaja śasyámāne | priyáḥ sū́rye priyó agnā́ bhavāty új-jā́tena bhinadad új-janitvaiḥ ||

يا أغني، ضُمَّهُ إليك بين الذين نالوا السَّمْعَ الصادق؛ وفي كلِّ أُكثا (uktha) ضُمَّهُ حين يُشادُ به. هو حبيبُ سُوريا، وبأغني يصيرُ حبيبًا؛ وبالميلادِ الصاعدِ يشقُّ وينفتح، وبالولاداتِ الناهضةِ يَنفُذُ ويَخرُقُ.
