स्मृत्यर्थकर्मणि तथा करोतेः प्रतियत्नके । हिंसार्थानां प्रयोगे च कृतिकर्मणि कर्तरि ॥ १६ ॥
smṛtyarthakarmaṇi tathā karoteḥ pratiyatnake | hiṃsārthānāṃ prayoge ca kṛtikarmaṇi kartari || 16 ||
وكذلك، حين يُؤدَّى الفعل لأجل التذكّر (smṛty-artha)، وحين يُستعمل الفعل √kṛ «يفعل» بمعنى بذل الجهد المقصود؛ وكذلك في استعمال الألفاظ الدالّة على الإيذاء؛ وفي الأفعال التي تنشأ من مباشرة الفاعل قصداً وسعياً—يُفهم الفاعل (kartṛ) على أنه محلّ الفعل ومرتكزه، أي صاحب الإسناد.
