कर्णश्न मम पुत्राश्न सर्वे चान्ये च पार्थिवा: | तेन वै दुष्प्रणीतेन गता वैवस्वतक्षयम्,अब तो मैं समझता हूँ कि उस दुर्नीतिके कारण कर्ण, मेरे सभी पुत्र तथा अन्य भूपाल यमलोकमें जा पहुँचे
karṇaś ca mama putrāś ca sarve cānye ca pārthivāḥ | tena vai duṣpraṇītena gatā vaivasvatakṣayam |
قال دِهْرِتَرَاشْتْرَة: «الآن أدركتُ أنّه بسبب إرشاد ذلك الرجل الشرير وسوء تدبيره، قد مضى كَرْنَةُ، وجميع أبنائي، وسائر الملوك أيضًا، إلى دار فَيْفَسْفَتَا—مملكة الموت.»
धृतराष्ट उवाच
The verse underscores moral causality in governance: when a ruler follows ‘duṣpraṇīti’—unrighteous counsel and misrule—the outcome is collective ruin. Dhṛtarāṣṭra recognizes that destructive leadership and unethical policy lead not only individuals but entire alliances into catastrophe.
Dhṛtarāṣṭra, hearing of the devastation in the war, reflects with belated clarity that due to a certain person’s harmful guidance, Karṇa, his sons, and other allied kings have perished—described as having reached Vaivasvata’s realm (Yama’s abode), i.e., death.
