पाञज्चजन्यं च बलवान् दध्मौ तारेण केशव: । रजसा ध्वस्तपक्ष्मान्ता: प्रस्विन्ननदनो भूशम्,बलवान् केशवने उच्च स्वरसे पांचजन्य शंख बजाया। उस समय उनकी पलकें धूलधूसरित हो रही थीं और उनके मुखपर बहुत-सी पसीनेकी बूँदें छा रही थीं
sañjaya uvāca | pāñcajanyaṃ ca balavān dadhmau tāreṇa keśavaḥ | rajasā dhvastapakṣmāntāḥ prasvinnavadano bhūśam ||
قال سَنجايا: نفخ كيشافا القوي في صَدَفة بانْجَجَنْيَا بنغمةٍ حادّةٍ عالية. وقد غشّى الغبارُ أطرافَ جفنيه، وتلألأ وجهُه بقطرات العرق الكثيرة—علاماتِ الشدّة والاستعجال في ساحة القتال، حتى لمن يقوم مقام السائق والهادي.
