Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Cosmology","secondary_vidya":"Philosophy","practical_application":"Serves as a compact index of the ninefold creation scheme attributed to Brahmā, useful for cross-checking Purāṇic cosmogonies and organizing teaching modules on sarga types.","sutra_style":true}

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"List","entry_title":"Nava Sargāḥ from Brahmā: Prākṛta, Vaikṛta, and Kaumāra as Ninth","lookup_keywords":["nava-sarga","brahmā","prākṛta","vaikṛta","kaumāra-sarga"],"quick_summary":"Affirms that nine creations proceed from Brahmā; highlights prākṛta and vaikṛta, and identifies the Kaumāra creation as the ninth, together functioning as root causal bases of the world-order."}

Concept: Causal ordering: multiple sarga modalities as ‘mūla-hetu’ (root causal bases) for the manifest world, with Brahmā as proximate cosmogonic agent.

Application: Adopt a layered causality model (primordial causes → evolutes → specialized creations) when interpreting mythic narratives and when structuring cosmology lessons.

FAQs

It imparts a technical cosmological classification (sarga-bheda): the Purāṇic taxonomy of nine creations from Brahmā, distinguishing primordial (prākṛta) and transformed (vaikṛta) modes and identifying the Kaumāra creation as the ninth.

By systematizing creation into numbered categories using Sāṃkhya-tinged vocabulary (Prakṛti, transformation), it exemplifies the Agni Purāṇa’s encyclopedic method—cataloguing doctrines (cosmology, metaphysics) alongside its many other disciplines.

Knowing creation’s root causes is presented in Purāṇic literature as right understanding (tattva-jñāna), supporting detachment from mere effects (jagat) and orienting the mind toward the ultimate source beyond changing phenomena.
