Puṁsavana / Viṣṇu-vrata: Worship of Lakṣmī-Nārāyaṇa for Auspicious Progeny and Fortune
तस्या अधीश्वर: साक्षात्त्वमेव पुरुष: पर: । त्वं सर्वयज्ञ इज्येयं क्रियेयं फलभुग्भवान् ॥ १२ ॥
tasyā adhīśvaraḥ sākṣāt tvam eva puruṣaḥ paraḥ tvaṁ sarva-yajña ijyeyaṁ kriyeyaṁ phala-bhug bhavān
My Lord, You are the master of energy, and therefore You are the Supreme Person. You are sacrifice [yajña] personified. Lakṣmī, the embodiment of spiritual activities, is the original form of worship offered unto You, whereas You are the enjoyer of all sacrifices.
This verse states that Lord Viṣṇu is not only the worshipable Lord of the rite, but also the very sacrifice, the act of worship, and the enjoyer of its results—making Him the ultimate purpose of all yajñas.
In the context of the Pumsavana observance, Aditi recognizes that all ritual power and outcomes depend on Viṣṇu: He empowers the process (kriyā), receives the worship (ijyā), and grants and enjoys the fruits (phala).
Offer your actions and their results to God—treat worship not as a transaction for benefits, but as devotion, remembering that the ultimate beneficiary and goal is the Supreme Lord.
