Vyāsa’s Vision, the Power of Bhāgavatam, and the Arrest of Aśvatthāmā
तत: प्रादुष्कृतं तेज: प्रचण्डं सर्वतोदिशम् । प्राणापदमभिप्रेक्ष्य विष्णुं जिष्णुरुवाच ह ॥ २१ ॥
tataḥ prāduṣkṛtaṁ tejaḥ pracaṇḍaṁ sarvato diśam prāṇāpadam abhiprekṣya viṣṇuṁ jiṣṇur uvāca ha
Thereupon a glaring light spread in all directions. It was so fierce that Arjuna thought his own life in danger, and so he began to address Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
This verse shows that when a terrifying, life-threatening force appears, the devotee turns to Lord Viṣṇu as the ultimate refuge and protector.
Because a fierce, all-directional radiance had manifested and threatened life itself, Arjuna sought the Lord’s protection and guidance.
When overwhelmed by fear or uncertainty, pause, remember the Lord as protector, and act with prayerful dependence rather than panic.
