Thereafter, from Divāka will come a son named Sahadeva, and from Sahadeva a great hero named Bṛhadaśva. From Bṛhadaśva will come Bhānumān, and from Bhānumān will come Pratīkāśva. The son of Pratīkāśva will be Supratīka.
It continues the Sūryavaṁśa (solar dynasty) genealogy, listing successive kings: Sahadeva, Bṛhadaśva, Bhānumān, Pratīkāśva, and Supratīka.
In Canto 9, Śukadeva presents major dynasties of righteous rulers to show how dharma and devotion were preserved through saintly lineages, including the line descending from Lord Rāmacandra.
They encourage respect for dharma-based leadership and remind readers that spiritual culture is sustained through disciplined succession—family, teachers, and communities transmitting values over time.
