Bhīma pressed down on one leg with his foot while grabbing Jarāsandha’s other leg in his hands, and just as a great elephant might break the branch of a tree, Bhīma tore Jarāsandha apart from the anus upward.
In Canto 10, Chapter 72, Bhīma defeats Jarāsandha in combat and tears him apart by force, splitting him upward from the anus, likened to an elephant breaking a branch.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī narrates this event to King Parīkṣit as part of Kṛṣṇa’s līlā and the freeing of the imprisoned kings.
It highlights that destructive tyranny must be opposed through righteous means and wise strategy, and that strength should be guided by dharma rather than ego.
