Kṛṣṇa’s Daily Life in Dvārakā; the Captive Kings’ Appeal; Nārada Announces the Rājasūya
तं दृष्ट्वा भगवान् कृष्ण: सर्वलोकेश्वरेश्वर: । ववन्द उत्थित: शीर्ष्णा ससभ्य: सानुगो मुदा ॥ ३३ ॥
taṁ dṛṣṭvā bhagavān kṛṣṇaḥ sarva-lokeśvareśvaraḥ vavanda utthitaḥ śīrṣṇā sa-sabhyaḥ sānugo mudā
Lord Kṛṣṇa is the worshipable master of even planetary rulers like Lord Brahmā and Lord Śiva, yet as soon as He saw that Nārada Muni had arrived, He joyfully stood up along with His ministers and secretaries to receive the great sage and offer His respectful obeisances by bowing His head.
This translation is based on Śrīla Prabhupāda’s Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The word mudā indicates that Lord Kṛṣṇa was delighted to see that Nārada had arrived.
To teach by His own example that honoring great sages and devotees is essential; even though He is the Supreme Lord, He joyfully shows humility and proper Vaiṣṇava conduct.
True greatness expresses itself as humility—Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the Lord of all worlds, personally offers respect to Nārada, highlighting the exalted position of saintly devotees.
Practice respectful behavior toward spiritually mature people—stand up, listen attentively, and offer sincere honor—cultivating humility and devotion in daily interactions.
