Kṛṣṇa Teases Rukmiṇī; Her Devotional Reply and the Lord’s Assurance
तथान्यासामपि विभुर्गृहेषु गृहवानिव । आस्थितो गृहमेधीयान् धर्मान् लोकगुरुर्हरि: ॥ ५९ ॥
tathānyāsām api vibhur gṛhesu gṛhavān iva āsthito gṛha-medhīyān dharmān loka-gurur hariḥ
The almighty Lord Hari, preceptor of all the worlds, similarly behaved like a conventional householder in the palaces of His other queens, performing the religious duties of a family man.
Thus end the purports of the humble servants of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda to the Tenth Canto, Sixtieth Chapter, of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, entitled “Lord Kṛṣṇa Teases Queen Rukmiṇī.”
This verse states that although Kṛṣṇa is Vibhu (the Supreme), He lived in His queens’ homes like a normal householder and followed household dharma, teaching society by personal example.
Because He demonstrates how to live dharmically in worldly roles without losing His divine position—guiding people through His own conduct.
Perform household responsibilities as dharma—honestly, responsibly, and with devotion—seeing family duties as service, while keeping remembrance of Hari at the center.
