yadaiva kṛṣṇaḥ sandiṣṭaḥ pārthānāṁ paramādbutam kārayām āsa nagaraṁ vicitraṁ viśvakarmaṇā
[Describing a previous incident, Śukadeva Gosvāmī said:] Upon the request of the Pāṇḍavas, Lord Kṛṣṇa had Viśvakarmā build them a most wonderful and amazing city.
Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī mentions that this city was constructed before the burning of the Khāṇḍava forest and hence before the Lord found His bride Kālindī.
This verse states that Kṛṣṇa had an astonishing, marvelous city built through Viśvakarmā, showing how divine purposes are executed through empowered celestial agents.
In the narrative context, Kṛṣṇa responds to the Pāṇḍavas’ request and ensures their welfare and honor, demonstrating His protective care for His devotees and allies.
The verse highlights trust in divine arrangement: when one acts with sincere devotion and right purpose, support and resources can come through appropriate instruments and skilled helpers.
