Ariṣṭāsura bellowed very harshly and pawed the ground. With his tail raised and his eyes glaring, he began to tear up the embankments with the tips of his horns, every now and then passing a little stool and urine.
This verse portrays Ariṣṭāsura’s demoniac frenzy—violent bellowing, tearing up the earth with horns, and an uncontrolled, maddened state—setting the scene for Krishna’s protection of Vraja.
The narration emphasizes the asuric condition: loss of dignity, uncontrolled senses, and destructive rage—contrasting with Krishna’s divine composure and the purity of Vṛndāvana.
It warns that unchecked anger and ego degrade one’s conduct and harm others; cultivating self-control and devotion helps prevent the mind from becoming destructive and “rigid” like the demon’s stare.
