The Future Manus and the Avatāras in Their Manvantaras
दशमो ब्रह्मसावर्णिरुपश्लोकसुतो मनु: । तत्सुता भूरिषेणाद्या हविष्मत्प्रमुखा द्विजा: ॥ २१ ॥
daśamo brahma-sāvarṇir upaśloka-suto manuḥ tat-sutā bhūriṣeṇādyā haviṣmat pramukhā dvijāḥ
The son of Upaśloka known as Brahma-sāvarṇi will be the tenth Manu. Bhūriṣeṇa will be among his sons, and the brāhmaṇas headed by Haviṣmān will be the seven sages.
In Canto 8, Chapter 13, Śukadeva describes Brahma-sāvarṇi as the tenth Manu, born as the son of Upaśloka, who will preside over a future manvantara.
He outlines the manvantara succession to show the Lord’s orderly governance of cosmic time and how dharma is maintained through Manus and their lineages across ages.
It encourages a long-view of time and dharma—seeing life as part of a larger divine order—helping one cultivate steadiness, humility, and faith in God’s governance.
